In Steve Riley is the Republican nominee for State Representative in the 23rd District, serving Barren and Warren Counties. Riley is a retired educator and is running to improve our business environment. His goal is to give young Kentuckians better in-state job opportunities as they start to make a living and raise a family.
Riley Graduated from Warren East High School and from Western Kentucky University with a Major in History, a Minor in Government, a Master’s in Secondary Education and History, and a Rank 1 in School Administration.
Before retiring in 2015, Steve Riley worked at Barren County High School for 31 years: 12 years as a teacher, 15 years as assistant principal, and 4 years as principal. He also coached basketball at the high school for 19 seasons. Riley was known for making a determined effort every day to support the students, teachers and parents of Barren County High School. Early in his career, he also spent three years teaching history, political science, and coaching men’s and women’s basketball at Lindsey Wilson College.
Riley has been married to his wife, Lisa, for 31 years and they have two sons and a daughter-in-law. Lisa is a registered nurse and served as the Director of Nursing at Barren County Health Care for 26 years.
Riley currently serves on the board of the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce, he is a member of the Glasgow Rotary Club, and he is a past member of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s Board of Control. A longtime Baptist, Riley has previously served as a church deacon.
