ICYMI: WSJ Editorial Board praises Republican tax cut, writes Beshear is “more concerned with preserving spending”

Frankfort, Ky. (April 18, 2022) – The Wall Street Journal editorial board criticized Governor Andy Beshear for vetoing tax reform and praised Kentucky Republicans for overriding him in the newspaper’s weekend edition.

The editorial board called Kentucky’s new tax reform law “responsible,” and added that Governor Beshear and Kentucky Democrats “may regret aligning themselves against the tax reform.” Additionally, the newspaper said Governor Beshear’s veto of “a restrained, incremental tax cut shows he’s more concerned with preserving spending.”

Governor Beshear vetoed the measure despite the highest level of inflation since 1981.
