Wendy Fletcher is the Republican nominee for the 99th House District which serves Rowan, Lewis, and Elliot counties. Fletcher is an advanced practice registered nurse who is running to ensure that the citizens of the 99th district are not left behind.
Her goal is to empower people to make their lives better and her platform focuses on protecting life, ensuring opportunities for business and education, protecting personal freedoms, and providing transparency in government.
Fletcher graduated valedictorian from West Carter high school and has a baccalaureate nursing degree from Morehead State University. She obtained a Masters of Science in Nursing as a family nurse practitioner from the University of Kentucky, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Texas Christian University. Wendy started her nursing career in critical care but then moved into primary care after graduate school. In 2005, she built her own practice, Health Plus, PSC, to care for young families and individuals needing preventative care and chronic disease management. Wendy still works full-time as a family nurse practitioner and legal nurse consultant, and sits on the Advanced Practice Council for the Kentucky Board of Nursing. She is the current president of the statewide Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives and has served on their board for the last 18 years. She is also an elected member of the Morehead State University alumni board.
Wendy has been married to her husband, Richard, since 1994 and they have two daughters, Allison and Reagan. Wendy and Richard attend Southland Christian Church, volunteer with the Northeast Kentucky Right To Life group in Morehead, The Hardwood Conservatives Coalition, and are both members of the NRA. Wendy has received endorsement from Kentucky Right to Life and received the highest rating attainable from the NRA for a first time candidate, A(Q).
