Republicans Elect Steve West As Republican Candidate for 27th Senate District’s Special Election

 
On Saturday January 10th, members of the county party committees in Kentucky’s 27th Senate District convened at the Fleming County Courthouse to select a candidate for the March 3rd special election, and elected Steve West as the Republican nominee. 
 
The 27th Senate District consists of Bourbon, Fleming, Harrison, Lewis, Mason, Nicholas, Robertson, and Rowan counties. 
 
West, a farmer and attorney, made the following remarks following his selection by the committees:
 
“I really appreciate the Republican committee members’ support and thank them for nominating me for this position. I look forward to working with them and running a strong campaign in the 27th district. It would be an absolute honor to represent the people of this district and join a strong majority in the Kentucky Senate.”
 
Chairman Steve Robertson released the following statement about West’s nomination:
 
“We’re incredibly pleased to announce the election of Steve West as our Republican candidate for the 27th district’s special election.  We have an opportunity to finally give the people of this district a voice in the majority in the Kentucky Senate, and look forward to showing them how Mr. West will do an excellent job representing their interests and values.”
 
West is a cattle farmer and real estate attorney and resides in Millersburg, KY of Bourbon County with his wife Cindy and three children. The West family attends Bedford Acres Christian Church.
