WTAS: Grimes “Shaky” New Ad

Less than a week ago marked the one year anniversary of Alison Lundergan Grimes’ disastrous campaign roll out, and with recent news of her campaign’s latest big fail – a misleading attack ad – it’s pretty clear that a full year later Grimes still isn’t ready for prime time.

This failed launch must feel like deja vu for their campaign- the roll out of their first negative ad has been widely criticized by the media. Here’s what they are saying:

“Shaky claims…”(Associated Press, 7/8/14)

“Similar claims in other Democratic ads have been debunked by independent fact-checkers.” (”The Hill, 7/8/14)

“Grimes stands by new ad hitting McConnell on Medicare but does not offer own plan” (CN2, 7/8/14)

”But there’s a problem here. The plan McConnell voted on back in 2011 would not have raised this miner’s costs, or anyone retired or close to retirement. That bill never did pass, failing in the Senate.“ (WPSD Local 6 News, 7/8/14)

“”The Washington Post Fact Checker has termed similar claims by other Democratic candidates so out of date as to be “laughable” and called on them to “drop the repeated Medicare references.” But following a speech here in Louisville, Grimes stuck by the ad.” (WDRB, 7/8/14)

“WHAS11’s review of the legislation cited in the ad finds that Disney’s question is misleading”  (WHAS, 7/8/14)

This “throwback” to President Obama’s 2012 campaign shows us that Alison Lundergan Grimes isn’t afraid to run her campaign based on the Obama playbook.

Kentucky voters deserve better than the liberal Obama agenda Grimes has so clearly embraced, and they certainly deserve better than the blatant deception the Grimes campaign is serving up.
