Republican Party of Kentucky Comment On Rep. Yarmuth Endorsing Anti-Coal Hillary Clinton
The Republican Party of Kentucky’s Executive Director Mike Biagi made the following statement regarding Congressman John Yarmuth’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton for president:
“Hillary Clinton has made it a priority of hers to continue and build on President Obama’s war on coal. The EPA agenda supported by Clinton is crippling the way of life for hard working Kentuckians. Congressman Yarmuth’s endorsement of Clinton is a full embrace of her out of touch policies that will hurt our local economy and drive up the cost of living.”

Clinton Has Vowed To Defend And “Build On” Obama’s New Clean Power Plan If Elected President, Calling It A “Significant Step Forward.” “Democratic front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton pledged Sunday that if elected she will build on a new White House clean energy program and defend it against those she called ‘Republican doubters and defeatists.’ Clinton was the first 2016 candidate to respond to the ambitious plan that President Obama will debut on Monday. Details of the program, which aims to cut greenhouse-gas pollution, were released over the weekend. The new regulation will require every state to reduce emissions from coal-burning power plants. The Associated Press: Losers Of The New Regulations: “Your Power Bill.” “LOSERS: —YOUR POWER BILL … Although the administration predicts the plan will actually lower the average U.S. energy bill by almost $85 in 2030, companies that produce and distribute electricity aren’t buying it. The savings come largely from increased use of wind, power and hydro plants, which operate at a cost of close to zero after they’re installed but cost a lot to get up and running. The administration is also counting on people’s power bills going because they’ll simply use less power as a result of efficiency measures.
