Beshear vetoed a ban on sex-change surgery for minors as recently as March
Frankfort, Ky. (July 24, 2023) – The Republican Party of Kentucky (RPK) issued the following statement in response to Governor Beshear running away from his record on radical gender ideology:
“Andy Beshear supports sex-change surgeries for kids because he vetoed the bill banning them in March,” said Sean Southard, RPK spokesman and Cameron for Governor campaign surrogate. “Now, in the heat of a campaign, Andy Beshear is misleading voters about his true beliefs. It’s a shame, and Kentuckians are smart enough to see through Andy Beshear’s lies.”
Andy Beshear vetoed Senate Bill 150 on March 24, which banned kid access to life-altering drugs and sex-change surgeries.
It’s not in dispute that Andy Beshear vetoed Senate Bill 150, which included provisions to ban kids from accessing life-altering drugs and sex-change surgeries.
Andy Beshear said that puberty blockers and hormone therapy for kids are “basic medical decisions.”
In June, Beshear said that providing puberty blockers and hormone therapy to kids are “basic medical decisions,” even though countries in Europe have started to reverse course on providing kids with access to these therapies and surgeries.
