FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 24, 2023) – The Republican Party of Kentucky issued the following statement after the codification of Senate Bill 99, which was a Republican-led effort to gather information about the Governor’s mishandling of the Team Kentucky Western Tornado Relief Fund:
“In an overwhelming bipartisan rebuke of Andy Beshear’s mishandling of the Team Kentucky Fund, the General Assembly has requested the administration answer questions about the fund’s use after he sent thousands of dollars of private money raised for tornado victims to the wrong people,” RPK spokesman Sean Southard said. “Andy Beshear can’t send out unemployment checks on time and he sends tornado relief money to the wrong people. You would think Andy might be better at this given his love of hosting press conferences with big checks he had no role in passing through the Republican General Assembly. We look forward to reviewing the results from Senate Bill 99.”
