Frankfort, Ky. (July 13, 2023) – The Republican Party of Kentucky issued the following statement in response to new polling showing how unpopular Andy Beshear’s positions are on allowing biological boys to compete in girls’ sports and providing minors access to drugs and surgeries to change their sex.
“Andy Beshear’s positions put him way outside the mainstream,” said RPK spokesman and Cameron campaign surrogate Sean Southard said. “Andy Beshear has consistently advocated for radical gender theory during his time in office, having vetoed bills to protect women’s sports and to protect children from drugs and sex-change surgeries. Andy Beshear will always side with his far-left allies who are pushing radical gender ideology. Daniel Cameron is a champion of the commonsense, mainstream values and principles of the men, women, and children of Kentucky’s 120 counties.”
According to a new Gallup poll, nearly 70 percent of U.S. adults believe people should only be able to compete on sports teams that correspond to biological sex. A YouGov poll released this morning shows how unpopular Beshear’s position is on offering minor children access to drugs and surgeries to change their sex. The YouGov poll found that on those issues, a plurality of voters in the United States support a ban on drugs and sex-change surgeries for minors as well as a ban on discussing gender ideology in public schools.
