Andy Beshear Quick To Support Anti-Catholic Hate Group, Slow To Say If He’ll Attend Fancy Farm Catholic Church Picnic

Andy Beshear cagey on attending Fancy Farm this year, after saying in 2018 it was a requirement to be governor

Frankfort, Ky. (June 19, 2023) – The Republican Party of Kentucky (RPK) is responding to Andy Beshear’s refusal to say whether or not he will attend the Fancy Farm picnic this August.

“Andy Beshear defended his decision to stand with an anti-Catholic hate group and is now refusing to say whether or not he will attend the Fancy Farm picnic, a Catholic church fundraiser and a staple of Kentucky’s political calendar,” RPK spokesman Sean Southard said. “This is the fifth year since Andy said that those who skip the picnic shouldn’t be governor. Andy Beshear: quick to support an anti-Catholic hate group, slow to say he will attend the Fancy Farm Catholic church picnic. We deserve leaders who uphold religious freedom and foster unity, not someone like Andy Beshear who is proud to stand with groups that denigrate people of faith.”
