Decision Desk: Kentucky polls telling “half the story”

39 out of 40 statewide polls in Kentucky since 2014 underestimated Republican candidates

Frankfort, Ky. (October 10, 2023) – Decision Desk HQ, a leading provider of U.S. and international election results and related data, released a memo urging caution about polls that undercount voter support for Republican candidates.

“Andy Beshear is going to lose this November and seasoned election analysts are sounding the alarm,” RPK spokesman Sean Southard said. “Kentuckians have an opportunity to make history by sending Daniel Cameron and a full slate of Republican officers to stand up to Joe Biden’s agenda in Frankfort. Andy Beshear is bankrolled by Biden and will never stand up to him.”

From the memo:

“I went through 40 polls released in the final months of every major statewide campaign [in Kentucky] from 2014…39 out of those 40 polls had underestimated the Republican…enough were in the double digits to yield an average 8-point miss…For whatever reason, the polls can tell you what the Democrat is going to end up with, but in a two-way race, you’re still missing half of the story.”
