Poll shows a vulnerable Andy Beshear with less than 50% support less than a week after primary day
Frankfort, Ky. (May 22, 2023) – A new poll released by the Daniel Cameron for Governor campaign shows the race between Daniel Cameron and Biden Democrat Andy Beshear to be in a dead heat and statistically tied, with Cameron starting off in a strong position the week after his historic landslide victory for the Republican nomination for governor.
“Kentuckians are tired of the empty promises of Joe Biden and Andy Beshear,” Republican Party of Kentucky spokesman Sean Southard said. “Under Andy Beshear, there are fewer Kentuckians working than the day he took office, crime is skyrocketing, and our students have suffered incredible learning loss. This poll shows Daniel Cameron can win this election and send Joe Biden’s man in Kentucky packing this November.”
The poll shows that if the general election were held today, Cameron would garner 43% of the vote to Beshear’s 45% with 12% undecided. The 12% of undecided voters have an overwhelming dislike of Joe Biden, with nearly 90% of them having an unfavorable view of Biden. In a 2024 presidential match up, only 33% of those surveyed would vote for Biden, who Andy Beshear supported in 2020.
