Reporter: Coal Not On Beshear’s Energy Agenda

Frankfort, Ky. (October 17, 2023) – The Republican Party of Kentucky released the following statement after a reporter said that “no one is talking about building more coal power” at the Governor’s energy conference today.

“Andy Beshear and Joe Biden hate our coal industry and look down on our coal miners,” RPK spokesman Sean Southard said. “That’s why coal is missing from the Governor’s energy conference and why he refuses to stand up to Joe Biden’s war on coal. Andy proudly cast votes for Biden and Hillary Clinton, who said she wanted to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business. Andy just endorsed Biden and Biden sent him $250,000 in campaign cash. Daniel Cameron supports our coal miners and our coal industry, and is fighting to stop the closure of coal plants so that Kentuckians have affordable and reliable energy during historic inflation.”
