OWENSBORO – Last night, Wednesday October 16th, the members of the Republican Executive Committees in Daviess, Henderson and Union Counties met for a House Nominating Meeting and elected Suzanne Miles as the Republican candidate for the Special Election on Tuesday, December 10, 2013.
Miles was the only candidate nominated and was elected unanimously.
Republican Party of Kentucky Chairman Steve Robertson released the following statement:
“We are thrilled to have Suzanne Miles as our Republican candidate in this election. Given her background as a small business owner and her dedicated work on behalf of the community, we are confident Suzanne Miles will serve as an excellent representative of the people of Kentucky’s 7th House District.”
Suzanne Miles released the following statement as well:
“I am honored to have been elected as the Republican candidate for Kentucky’s 7th house district, and as someone dedicated to serving our community and the Commonwealth as a whole, am eager to speak about the issues important to this district and all Kentuckians. Many people have contacted me about making Frankfort a better place, and I’m excited to bring much needed change to the state house.”
The election will be held to fill the vacant seat in Kentucky House District 7, which became open when Representative John Arnold resigned from office on September 13, 2013.
